Nintendo 3DS - This game is a throwback to the great, addictive action-adventure games of the 8-bit era. Its retro feel is charming, and the tone is lighthearted. But it's more than a gimmick - there is some serious gameplay to go with the nostalgia. You play as the Shovel Knight, a valorous fellow who is on a mission to destroy the evil Enchantress. The Shovel Knight's weapon of choice, the ShovelBlade, can both slash enemies and dig. You'll do a lot of both as you head into dangerous dungeons and caverns, leap onto moving platforms, and face off against your hated enemies - the knights of The Order of No Quarter. With its upgradable weapons and armor, levels filled with loot and secrets, loopy story, and old-school charm, Shovel Knight is an amazing game in every way.
