HISTORY ASPECTS:Interflug’s IL-62M registered DDR-SEO was a prominent aircraft in the East German airlines fleet during the height of its operations. The Il-62M a Soviet-built four-engine jet airliner was designed for medium to long-haul flights and quickly became known for its reliability and performance. Interflug founded in 1958 as the national airline of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) used the IL-62M extensively for both domestic and international flights particularly to Western Europe the Soviet Union and other socialist countries. The distinctive livery which often featured the bold red and blue stripes along the fuselage made it a recognizable symbol of the GDRs aviation achievements.As one of the most advanced aircraft of its time in Eastern Europe the IL-62M offered a comfortable and efficient service for its passengers.
