Folic acid plays a role in process of cell division, helps to strengthen the immune system, to reduce the tiredness and thefatigue and to maintain the normal psychological function. It also intervenes in the amino acid synthesis, In the homocysteine metabolism and in thehematopoiesis, that is, in the formation and maturation of all blood cells. For women of childbearing age, in anticipation of a pregnancy, supplemental folic acid intake is useful for increase maternal folate status which, if low, is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the fetus*; also contributes to the growth of maternal tissues.
*Beneficial effect obtainable with a daily intake of 400 mcg of folic acid, starting at least one month before and up to three months after conception.

How to use
