The Ford GPA “Seep” (Sea Jeep) was an amphibious version of the World War II Ford GPW jeep. The DUKW amphibious 2 1⁄2-ton truck was used as a design reference, but the GPA was not as successful of a design as the DUKW with just 12,000 units being produced between 1942 and the end of WWII. The Soviet Union received roughly half of all GPA production, and they were sufficiently pleased with its ability to cross calmer inland waters, that they manufactured a copy, the GAZ-46.
Torro have recreated this 1\/16 scale model as a compliment to their existing Schwimmwagen replica to compliment any scale RC military vehicle enthusiasts’ collection.
The Torro Ford GPA accurately recreates the operation of the full-scale vehicle on both land and in water, thanks to it’s protected amphibious propeller drive system. The featured-packed 2.4GHz pistol grip transmitter provides a selector switch for Slow-Medium-High Speed operation, along with a propeller on\/off button and digital steering rate and trim controls. For safety, the GPA is equipped with a sensor that only allows the prop to operate when submerged underwater. The included 7.4V 280mAh rechargeable LiPo battery and convenient USB charger deliver maximum performance and extended service times.
