Flåm Railway is one of the world’s steepest train routes and is best-known for its spectacular tunnels that spiral in and out of the mountain. On this scenic Norwegian rail journey from the Flåmsbana station in Flåm to Myrdal, you’ll hear about the train’s history, local attractions, and what to do while you’re in the Aurland region. On this 20-kilometre journey you’ll see Norwegian nature at its most magnificent, and stunning views at every turn. The trip starts in the village of Flåm in the innermost section of Aurland fjord’s which forms part of the world’s longest fjord, the Sognefjord. Along the way, you’ll pass and hear about several picturesque hamlets and stations, including Dalsbotn, Berekvam, Blomheller, Lunden, Reinunga and Vatnahalsen, where the spectacular Flåm Zipline starts.
