HISTORY ASPECTS:The Space Shuttle Enterprise holds a special place in the history of space exploration as the first orbiter of NASAs Space Shuttle program. Although it never flew in space Enterprise served a crucial role in the development of the Space Shuttle fleet undergoing a series of atmospheric test flights in the late 1970s.
