HISTORY ASPECTS:The F-15E Strike Eagle a dual-role fighter designed for air-to-air and air-to-ground missions has been a key asset for the U.S. Air Force since its introduction in the late 1980s. By December 3 2021 the 17th Weapons Squadron (WPS) based in Nevada had established itself as a premier unit specializing in advanced tactical training for F-15E crews. The 17th WPSs mission was to develop and teach advanced techniques and tactics to pilots and weapon systems officers ensuring the Strike Eagles dominance in modern warfare.The F-15E Strike Eagle has seen extensive combat use since its inception. It played significant roles in Operations Desert Storm Allied Force Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom among others.
