\nHISTORY ASPECTS:The Boeing Chinook HC.1 famously known as "Bravo November" has a distinguished history within No. 18 Squadron of the Royal Air Force. This particular Chinook played a critical role during "Operation Corporate" the British military campaign to retake the Falkland Islands in 1982. During the conflict "Bravo November" survived against incredible odds and proved to be an invaluable asset for the British forces. On May 25 1982 after the Atlantic Conveyor a supply ship carrying several helicopters was sunk by an Exocet missile "Bravo November" was the only Chinook to survive as it was airborne at the time. Despite losing vital equipment "Bravo November" continued to operate with remarkable resilience and adaptability.Throughout the Falklands War "Bravo November" was involved in numerous critical missions including the transportation of troops supplies and equipment across the challenging terrain of the Falkland Islands. The helicopter was instrumental in the success of various operations such as the insertion of Special Forces and the evacuation of casualties.
