This big-budget, comic-book, sci-fi movie puts the fun back into massive summer action flicks. Based on the Marvel comic and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy follows the adventures of the most unlikely group of galactic heroes ever assembled. The team includes a walking tree named Groot, his rodent pal Rocket Raccoon, Drax, a muscle-bound mutant bent on revenge, and Gamora, a green-skinned alien assassin with super strength and agility. Star Lord, a cocky earthling with a taste for classic rock, leads these unlikely saviors on a mission to keep the evil overlord Thanos from acquiring the Infinity Gem, a relic of cosmos-shattering power. Can they put aside their personal differences long enough to save the galaxy from genocide?
