HISTORY ASPECTS:The U.S. CVN-65 Enterprise with its 4 inches Legend Section #L deck and F-14A BuNo.161280 was a formidable fighter aircraft that saw action in the 1983 Libyan conflict. The F-14A BuNo.161280 was flown by the VF-31 "Tomcatters" squadron and participated in operations against Libyan air defenses. The Enterprise played a critical role in the conflict by launching airstrikes against Libyan targets and providing air cover for U.S. Navy ships in the area.In 1986 the Enterprise participated in Operation El Dorado Canyon a series of air strikes on Libya in response to Libyan-sponsored terrorism.
