\nHISTORY ASPECTS:The USS Enterprise (CVN-65) was one of the largest aircraft carriers ever built and served the United States Navy from 1961 to 2012. The ship saw action in numerous conflicts including the Cuban Missile Crisis the Vietnam War and the Gulf War. In 1986 an F-14A Tomcat from the VF-2 "Bounty Hunters" squadron crashed on the deck of the Enterprise but the pilot was rescued and the ship suffered only minor damage.
