Francesca Bianchi The Black Knight 30 ml is a leathery essence for men and women. The Black Knight is a gothic, intense, sophisticated perfume inspired by Giovanni Dalle Bande Nere, an Italian Renaissance condottiero from the Medici family (father of Cosimo the Great). I have always been fascinated by this character for his stoic dedication to his cause, his loyalty, and his Spartan lifestyle – despite his noble origins. The perfume seeks to recreate the atmosphere of a military camp, with the scent of dry brush in the opening, then the smoke of a bonfire and a hint of horse tack. The evolution takes us deeper into the soul of this severe character, revealing the presence of a secret lover, with a powdery rose that rounds out the intense heart composed of vetiver. Unlike my usual habits, I did not add any typically animale note, since the intensity of the vetiver, together with the leather, already made it extremely decisive. Dark, medieval, meditative, in this perfume I wanted to convey on one hand the uncompromising character and on the other the more human side of this marvelous character.
