FILIPPO SORCINELLI Trompette 8 Extrait de Parfum 50 ml The "extrait de musique" collection aims to describe, through incense, the many sounds of the registers of the Great Organ of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. The sixth new fragrance being presented speaks synesthetically of the trumpet register, belonging to the reed family, one of the oldest organ registers. The first documented mention of this register is found in a description of a great organ from the 1st century BC, located in a gladiator arena. Reed registers produce sound thanks to the vibration of a reed (the tongue) against two walls. Characterized by a particularly metallic and "rasping" sound, just like real trumpets, they enrich and complete the instrument. The cap, like the previous extrait de musique, faithfully reproduces the stop knob of the Great Parisian Organ. Trompette 8, like the previous ones, is enclosed inside a completely handmade wooden box, reminiscent of the wooden case of the great harmonic chests of pipe organs.
