diptyque L'Ombre dans l'Eau EDP is a floral unisex eau de parfum. In her garden, Mrs. Merwin, a friend of the creators of diptyque, would cut blackcurrant and rose bushes to add the petals of the latter to her potpourri. The combination of blackcurrant leaves and rose petals was the inspiration for one of diptyque's most famous fragrances. This fragrance was developed in 1983; the top notes are characterized by Bulgarian rose, to which are added the green notes of blackcurrant leaves, giving it a pleasant freshness. The shadows in its name are balanced by freshness, reminiscent of a lush garden on the water's edge.
