Nintendo 3DS - This Japanese role-playing game is a spiritual successor to Square Enix's Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, but it brings a ton of innovation to the genre. Bravely Default takes its peculiar name from a new gameplay feature: the option to both "Default" (store battle points for later) and "Brave" (unleash multiple attacks in a single turn). Bravely Default's turn-based combat features multi-hit combination moves, the ability to freeze time, and the option of using points accrued during sleep mode. Square Enix has included an abundance of voice acting, a robust online community, augmented reality features, and more. This is a winning title for longtime fans of JRPGs and newcomers alike.
