Aalborg has always played a pivotal role in the Kingdom of Denmark. On this walking tour from the Utzon Center to the Aalborghus Castle, I’ll point out the tell-tale signs of the city’s transformation from a trading hub, to the centre of a civil war known as Count’s Feud in the 1500s, into a green and culturally rich city. Along with impressive medieval and modern architecture, I’ll show you the marketplace where Vikings used to trade when they first settled here, and the Budolfi Kirke which was built on the foundations of a wooden church from the Middle Ages.
