\nHISTORY ASPECTS:The SWISS A220-100 registration HB-JBH is part of Swiss International Air Lines fleet modernization efforts. As one of the first operators of the A220 (formerly known as the Bombardier CSeries) SWISS became a launch customer of the aircraft in 2016. The A220-100 was chosen for its advanced technology fuel efficiency and ability to operate on both short and medium-haul routes perfectly suited to SWISS’s European network. HB-JBH like its sister aircraft replaced aging Airbus A319s and Avro RJ100s providing passengers with enhanced comfort quieter cabins and improved fuel economy.The A220’s design made it ideal for operating at airports with challenging runways and flight paths such as London City Airport where SWISS flies regularly. HB-JBH helped the airline lower its environmental footprint thanks to the A220’s innovative Pratt & Whitney PW1500G engines which are 20% more fuel-efficient compared to older models. SWISSs deployment of the A220 particularly HB-JBH allowed the airline to enhance its offerings by providing better fuel economy while maintaining the premium service for which SWISS is known.SWISS has successfully integrated the A220-100 into its operations benefiting from its operational flexibility and low maintenance costs.
